This WebP to PNG converter keeps transparent backgrounds intact, so logos, icons, stickers and product cut-outs come out exactly as they looked. It runs entirely inside your browser: no uploads, no account, and as many images as you need.

How to convert WebP to PNG

  1. Drop in your WebP files

Drag .webp images onto the converter, paste one from your clipboard, or use "Choose files".

  2. Wait a moment

Every image is converted to PNG on your device. Transparency is preserved automatically, so there is nothing to set.

  3. Download the PNGs

Save each PNG or download the batch as a ZIP. File names stay the same; only the extension changes.

What is a WebP image?

WebP is a modern web image format from Google. Websites use it because it is smaller than JPG and PNG for the same look, which makes pages faster. Many sites hand you a WebP even when the original upload was a PNG.

Like PNG, WebP supports an alpha channel, the part of an image that stores transparency. That's how a logo sits on any background without a white box around it. The problem is that a lot of editing and office software still can't open WebP, so the transparency is useless until you convert.

PNG is the most widely supported format with transparency. Every image editor, presentation app and design tool reads it, which is why WebP to PNG is the safe conversion for graphics.

Why use OneDropConvert?

  • Transparency kept, pixel for pixel. We never flatten see-through areas when the output is PNG.
  • Files stay local. Your graphics are processed in the browser and never uploaded.
  • Clean files. Hidden metadata is removed during conversion.
  • Batch conversion. Add up to 50 WebP images at once and get them back as a ZIP.
  • No cost, no watermark, no sign-up.

Convert a transparent WebP logo to PNG

Logos and icons are where WebP to PNG matters most. If you save a brand logo from a website and drop it into PowerPoint, Word or Google Slides, a WebP may not insert at all, and converting it to JPG would put a solid box behind it. Converting to PNG keeps the edges smooth and the background clear.

The same goes for product photos with removed backgrounds, emoji-style stickers and screenshots of UI elements. Each one keeps its alpha channel in the PNG.

Expect PNG files to be larger than the WebP originals, since PNG compression is lossless. If you later need a small transparent file for a website, JPG to WebP also accepts PNGs and converts them back.

FAQ

Does WebP to PNG keep the transparent background?

Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent pixels are copied exactly into the PNG. Nothing is filled in.

Is there any quality loss going from WebP to PNG?

No further loss. PNG is lossless, so the PNG looks exactly like the WebP did on screen. If the WebP was lossy to begin with, that original compression is already baked in.

Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP?

WebP is designed to be compact; PNG stores every pixel without loss. A PNG two to five times larger than the WebP is normal.

Can I convert animated WebP files?

Only the first frame is converted, because PNG (as used by most apps) holds a single still image. Animated output is not supported yet.

Is it safe to use with work or client files?

Yes. Files are processed locally by your browser. They are never uploaded, logged or stored by us.

Which browsers does the WebP converter support?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. All of them can read WebP natively.
