Proportions locked: type one side and the other follows.

Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions, scale it by a percentage, or pick a preset for Instagram, Facebook, passport photos and HD screens. This image resizer works on a whole batch at once and keeps every file private in your browser.

How to resize an image

  1. Add your images

Drop JPG, PNG or WebP files onto the box or click "Choose files".

  2. Set the new size

Type a width or height (proportions stay locked), switch to Percentage, or pick a preset like Instagram square 1080×1080.

  3. Resize and download

Press "Resize images", then download each file or all of them as a ZIP.

What does resizing an image do?

Every digital image is a grid of pixels. Resizing changes how many pixels there are: a 4000×3000 phone photo resized to 1200×900 keeps the same picture with fewer, larger pixels. That makes the file smaller and the image better suited to where it's going.

Proportions (the aspect ratio) are the relationship between width and height. With the lock on, you set one side and each image keeps its own shape, so nothing looks stretched. Turn the lock off and enter both sides when you need an exact size; we then crop evenly from the centre so the image fills the frame without distortion.

Making an image smaller always works well. Making it larger can't add detail that wasn't captured, so upscaled photos look soft. If you need a bigger print, start from the largest original you have.

Why use OneDropConvert?

  • Private. Images are resized in your browser and never uploaded.
  • High-quality scaling. Large reductions are done in steps, which keeps fine detail sharper than a single jump.
  • Presets for common sizes. Instagram, Facebook cover, passport and HD in one click.
  • Batch resize. Up to 50 images at once with the same settings.
  • Location data removed, no watermark, no sign-up.

Resize images for Instagram and Facebook

Social platforms recompress anything you upload, and they do a better job when your image is already the size they display. Instagram's standard sizes are 1080×1080 for square posts and 1080×1350 for portrait posts; a Facebook page cover displays at 820×312 on desktop.

Pick the matching preset and press "Resize images". Because the shape of your photo probably differs from the preset, the image is centre-cropped to fill it exactly. If the important part of your photo is off-centre, crop it first in your phone's editor, then resize here.

For profile pictures, ID photos and online forms, the passport preset (600×600) is a common requirement. Many forms also cap the file size, so after resizing, run the image through compress to 100 KB. To shrink file size without changing dimensions, use compress image.

FAQ

How do I resize an image without stretching it?

Keep the lock on and enter only a width or a height. The other side is calculated from each image's own proportions.

What happens when I pick a preset like 1080×1080?

The image is scaled to cover the preset size and then cropped evenly from the centre. It fills the frame without distortion.

Can I resize by percentage?

Yes. Choose Percentage and set a scale from 5% to 200%. 50% halves both width and height.

Does resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger than the original can't add detail, so it will look softer.

Can I resize several photos at once?

Yes. Add up to 50 images; they all get the same settings. With the lock on, each keeps its own proportions.

What format do resized images use?

The same as the original: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP. JPG and WebP are saved at high quality.
