PNG files too large? Compress them
This PDF to PNG converter turns each page into a lossless PNG image, so text, charts, diagrams and screenshots stay perfectly sharp. It runs entirely in your browser: your PDF is never uploaded.
How to convert PDF to PNG
Add your PDF
Drop one or more PDF files onto the box, or tap "Choose PDFs".
Pick a resolution
Standard (150 DPI) for screens, Print (300 DPI) for printing and fine detail.
Download the PNGs
One page downloads as a PNG; several pages come as a ZIP with numbered file names.
Why PNG for PDF pages?
PNG is a lossless image format: every pixel is stored exactly, so the sharp edges of text and lines don't pick up the fuzzy "artefacts" JPG compression can add. That makes PNG the best image format for pages of text, spreadsheets, slides, charts and technical drawings.
The trade-off is size. A full page as PNG is usually larger than the same page as JPG, especially for scanned photos. For scans and photo-heavy pages, PDF to JPG gives much smaller files that look the same.
Why use OneDropConvert?
- Lossless quality. Text and lines stay razor sharp.
- Private. Rendered on your device; your PDF is never uploaded.
- All pages at once. Numbered PNGs in one ZIP.
- Up to 300 DPI. Enough to print a page at full size.
- Free, no watermark, no sign-up.
Put a chart or slide from a PDF into a document
Reports and presentations often arrive as PDFs. To reuse a chart, table or slide in a document, wiki or design tool, convert the PDF to PNG at Standard or Print resolution and drop the page image in. Because PNG is lossless, small labels stay readable.
Need the image smaller afterwards? Resize image scales it to exact dimensions, and compress image reduces PNG size while keeping it a PNG.
FAQ
How do I convert a PDF to PNG?
Drop the PDF onto the box above. Each page becomes a PNG automatically; download one image or all of them as a ZIP.
Is PNG better than JPG for PDFs?
For text, charts and diagrams, yes: PNG is lossless and keeps edges sharp. For scanned photos, JPG makes much smaller files with no visible difference.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Your browser renders the pages with pdf.js. Nothing leaves your device.
Do the PNGs have a transparent background?
No. PDF pages are rendered on white, the way they print, so they look right everywhere.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not yet. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then convert the copy.
